2025 with UNPLEXi

Well. Here we are. Christmas.

This year felt like one of those “two steps forward, one existential crisis back” Irish jigs, but in the end, the ‘diddly dee’ beat held, and I *think* I’ve levelled up. Or at least stopped pretending I’m not a tech founder. (Still working very hard not to be this…)

Somehow… we made it. I’m currently winding down by dipping my toes in the ocean (pictured above), and it’s given me some time to reflect on everything we’ve achieved at UNPLEXi. It’s been an enormous year.

Here’s what went down:

The UNPLEXi™ MVP officially landed in the world 

The care planning software we’ve been building, refining, obsessing over, questioning, breaking, fixing, explaining, shaping, dreaming about and occasionally swearing at… 
It exists. People are using it. And it (mostly) works. 

And it is trademarked (look how grown up I am Mum). Huge shout out to Dundaloo Support Services & Pam Kingston for taking a chance on an unknown Anna. You have been instrumental in this happening. 

Kirinari said YES!

Our partnership with Kirinari Community Services is one of our proudest achievements this year. For us, this partnership reflects exactly what UNPLEXi was built for: a bold rural organisation leaning into evidence, care quality and innovation. 

Our technology

We’ve spent countless hours studying, testing, researching and refining the UNPLEXi model. We’ve built our AI carefully and deliberately, guided by research and grounded in ethics, cultural sensitivity, transparency and security – so you can trust the data you see. We’ve collaborated closely with our partners to understand and target organisation pain points, and this has been pivotal in translating co-design feedback into working code and real-world solutions. The work has only just begun, and we’re excited to roll up our sleeves for what comes next.

Our people

Our team has grown, and we’ve formed new partnerships with truly remarkable people. We’ve stayed united through some genuinely tough moments and continued to grow stronger together. We’ve shown that when it counts, we can adapt and deliver. That shared “can-do” attitude keeps getting stronger.

  • Lauren – my ever present, always committed, organised, efficient clear-thinking guru at everything moved into a much-deserved project manager role. 
  • Bill — my resident 7 string Choro guitar wielding coding genius who is 100% committed to the cause. 
  • Evie — my comms legend bringing with her a calm voice of reason clarity, design, evidence and storytelling. 
  • Pam, Leanne, Georgie & Georgia — my dream team of sector brains, ICF masters, pragmatic thinkers and our future small language model trainers. 
  • Dean & Josh at Luminary — the kind of tech partners you manifest, not recruit. 
  • Kerryn & Anita at Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick Solicitors – my legal brains bringing trust, and expertly and gently guiding me on my (less accidental) tech founder journey. 

This year I:  

Went all in. All. The. Way. No more half-stepping. No more apologising for ambition. 
I took the leap, committed like a lunatic, and learned that sometimes the only way out is through (preferably with snacks + coffee). 

Owned my title as a tech founder.

 Look, I fought this one hard. But eventually I accepted that: 

  • If you build software… 
  • Lead a tech company… 
  • And spend your days talking about AI, dashboards, and system architecture… 

…you might actually be a tech founder. (Ugh.) 

Let go 

Of fear. Of playing small. Of pretending I don’t know what I’m doing. Of trying to be everything to everyone. Of doing it all alone.

Because how we build matters just as much as what we build.

Looking ahead to 2026

Next year, our focus is clear.

We’re committed to launching the next and best version of UNPLEXi — one that continues to support disability, aged care, and community organisations to deliver care that is safe, aligned, and truly reflective of real human need.

There’s a significant opportunity in the disability and aged care sectors to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, and UNPLEXi is committed to doing the hard work required to understand the sector and meet the growing demand for care services.

We’ll continue to be here to listen, and keep learning alongside the people doing the work every day. We’re focused on building something that stands up to scrutiny, diversity, and real-world use.

That you rest. That you feel proud of what you survived and created. That you step into 2026 with clarity, courage, humour, and a healthy disregard for unnecessary rules. 

And if you’re also building something bold? 

Keep going. You’re closer than you think.
